Jesus Garza, 79, enjoys his meal of ham, fresh vegetables and dessert at the annual H-E-B Feast of Sharing at the Victoria Community Center.

A line formed early at the front door of the Victoria Community Center, but everyone gladly waited as staff and volunteers of the annual H-E-B Feast of Sharing prepared a special dinner.

As families and individuals approached the dome area, they were greeted by smiling faces eager to serve their fellow man. Festive balloons decorated the hall, setting a cheerful tone for the afternoon as the ever-present Brother Gary Moses served as emcee, a role he has filled for many years.

The Air Force Junior ROTC presented the colors, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.

Humble faces smiled as volunteers brought out plate after plate, making sure that people had plenty to eat.

People came together as a gesture to brighten the holidays and to return the good fortune of peace in their community, organizers said.
