Rebecca Wagner joined the University of Houston-Victoria staff as a financial aid specialist. She coordinates the student work-study program, facilitates and awards institutional scholarships and tracks student progress for state and university grant requirements. Wagner's previous job was as a financial aid program assistant at Whatcom Community College in Bellingham, Wash. She is taking classes in the UHV School of Education and Human Development to eventually become a teacher.
Jennifer Boswell recently began work as an assistant professor of counseling in the UHV School of Education and Human Development. She is teaching a research and program evaluation course and a class about counseling techniques. Her main research focuses are counseling children and adolescents and studying religious and spiritual issues in counseling. Boswell previously taught at Oakland University in Rochester, Mich.
David Roberts, senior partner in the firm of Roberts, Roberts, Odefey and Witte LLP and a member of the Houston Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates, was selected to the National Board of Directors of the American Board of Trial Advocates. Roberts, who also serves on the state board of directors, will serve on the National Board Membership Committee and the Teachers' Law School Committee.
Layne Brandt was promoted to president by the board of directors of First State Bank of Yoakum and Community Bank of Moulton.
