Citizens Medical Center will offer a free taxi ride service for people who have had too much alcohol to drink this holiday season.
The program, Make Our Area Safe for the Holidays, or M*ASH, is in its 31st year.
The hospital has partnered with Cesar's Taxis to provide the free rides from 4 p.m. to 4 a.m. Tuesday through 4 a.m. Jan. 1.
"Our goal is to prevent tragedies from interfering with holiday festivities," said Stephen Thames, CEO of Citizens Medical Center. "We want people to celebrate but do so safely and responsibly by either having a designated driver or taking a cab."
To take part in the free program, call 361-572-6274 between 4 p.m. and 4 a.m. through Jan. 1.
