Victoria College Foundation names new executive director
Amy Mundy has joined the Victoria College staff as the new executive director of the Victoria College Foundation.
Her position is housed under College Advancement and External Affairs, led by Vice President Jennifer Yancey. Her team includes Development Director Cara Frederick and Finance Specialist Cynthia Vivian.
Mundy is responsible for providing leadership for the development and advancement of the VC Foundation. As executive director, she will work on fundraising, donor relations, scholarship programs, planned giving and special events.
The VC Foundation provides financial support for scholarships, faculty and staff development, technology, capital needs and other VC initiatives.
"I am so excited to have Amy join Victoria College," Yancey said. "She brings a wealth of experience in higher education, resource development and community relations to the college and VC Foundation. I look forward to working with her to grow the foundation and provide educational and training opportunities for students throughout the region. We are fortunate to have someone with her talents and enthusiasm on our team."
Mundy began her career in fundraising by working with various nonprofits on a voluntary basis throughout the community.
"My passion for service encouraged me to seek a professional position that would allow me to continue helping others," she said. "Thus began my career at the Devereux Foundation Victoria Campus, where I worked in the Development office. At Devereux, I did everything from gift processing, volunteer coordination, event planning, public relations, working with the advisory board, endowments and, of course, fundraising."
After many years at Devereux, she moved to the University of Houston-Victoria, where she was responsible for corporate and foundation relations, alumni giving, fundraising events and annual campaigns. Mundy also served as the Student Government Association advisor at UHV.
"I thoroughly enjoyed my time at UHV, and I am excited to bring what I have learned over the years to my new position at Victoria College," she said.
VC Foundation Board President Dr. Ruth Constant said she has known Mundy personally and professionally for several years.
"She is an outstanding worker and will be a big asset to our VC Foundation as the new executive director." Constant said. "I've watched her progress over the years, and I knew she did such a good job at UHV. I can speak for the board we all look forward to working with her in having a great, positive future together."
The Victoria native began her education at Victoria College before transferring to UHV to finish her degree. She and her husband, Arron, have been married for 16 years and have two children, John, 15; and Colton, 11.
