Wrecked

VICTORIA - A white Dodge and an orange Kia at the intersection of Wildwood and Ben Jordan streets at 7:16 p.m. Monday. The Dodge, driven by Joshua Ramirez, 21, of Victoria, was traveling south on Ben Jordan Street. When he made a left turn on Wildwood Street, he collided with the Kia, which was going northbound on Ben Jordan and driven by Maria Gomez. Gomez, a 49-year-old Palacios woman, complained of chest pain and was taken by ambulance to Citizens Medical Center, Patrol Officer J.J. Houlton, of the Victoria Police Department, said. Houlton gave Ramirez a ticket for not having his license.

VICTORIA - A gray and green Dodge and a gray Chrysler in the 10300 block of Zac Lentz Parkway about 3:30 p.m. Monday. The gray and green Dodge was traveling south and proceeding through a stop sign on Briggs Road. Patrol Officer Phillip Barron, with the Victoria Police Department, said the driver, a Victoria man, said the sun was in his eyes. Barron said the man didn't see the gray Chrysler traveling east on Zac Lentz Parkway, and the two struck each other. The gray Chrysler was driven by a Port Lavaca woman. Both of the drivers' names were not released Monday. They both refused medical treatment, and no citations were issued, Barron said.

VICTORIA - A 2012 gray Kia Optima, driven by Shannon Dale Holder, 49, of Victoria, and a 2007 maroon Chevrolet Colorado, driven by John Manuel Tinoco, 74, of Victoria, at 6 a.m. Friday in the 5600 block of North Navarro Street. The Kia was turning left onto Navarro Street from the 100 block of Salem Road. It struck the Chevrolet, which was traveling south on Navarro Street in the inside lane. The Kia was at fault for failing to yield the right of way.

VICTORIA - A 2006 white Chevrolet Malibu, driven by Daniel Garcia, 25, of Victoria, in the 600 block of North Depot Street at 9:42 p.m. Friday. Near the intersection of Depot and East North streets, an argument broke out in the Malibu, and one of the passengers was pulled out of the car and then run over. One passenger was taken to DeTar Hospital North. Garcia was charged with intoxication assault.



Fire

VICTORIA - The Victoria Fire Department was called out about 3:15 p.m. Monday afternoon to a possible fire at a home in the 2000 block of Guadalupe Street. Units were called off after it was discovered to be an electrical issue, said Battalion Chief Clifton Bayer.



Arrested

VICTORIA - A 41-year-old Victoria man by officers Jan. 24 on suspicion of aggravated assault causing serious bodily injury.

VICTORIA - A 33-year-old Cuero resident by officers Friday on suspicion of theft of property between $50 and $500.

VICTORIA - An 18-year-old Cuero woman by officers Friday on suspicion of theft of property between $50 and $500.

VICTORIA - A 20-year-old Cuero woman by officers Friday on suspicion of theft of property between $50 and $500.

VICTORIA - A 19-year-old Cuero woman by officers Friday on suspicion of theft of property between $50 and $500.

VICTORIA - Robert Stanley Grimaldo, 22, of Victoria, by deputies Friday on a warrant charging him with possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces.

VICTORIA - A 22-year-old Victoria woman by officers Friday on suspicion of theft of property between $50 and $500.
