74th annual Yorktown stock show starts Friday
The 74th annual Yorktown FFA Stock Show begins Friday at the show barn on North Hoppe Street.
This year's event features four steers, 16 sheep and 18 hogs, said Brad Metting, Yorktown ag teacher.
The number of entries is about the same as last year.
The animals will be judged starting at 5:30 p.m. Friday beginning with the sheep, followed by the hogs and steers. Shop projects will also be judged Friday afternoon.
The cook-off judging begins at 9 a.m. Saturday with students competing in chili, beans and brisket divisions.
The market animal sale starts at 1 p.m. Saturday.
