Jaguars split doubleheader against Texas Wesleyan

FORT WORTH - Dylan Blaha hit a RBI double in the top of the ninth inning to help UHV snap a six-game losing streak and capture a 5-4 win over Texas Wesleyan in the second game of doubleheader Saturday at La Grave Field.

Texas Wesleyan won the first game 3-2, scoring the winning run with one out in the bottom of the seventh inning.

Blaha went 2 for 5 with 2 RBIs in the second game for the Jaguars (3-6).

Joshua Boothe had a triple and a double and scored two runs for UHV, and Stephen Shorkey also had two hits and a RBI.

Chance Marshall was the winning pitcher with 2.1 innings of hitless relief and Andrew Walker picked up his first save.

The Rams (7-5) scored two runs in the third inning off of UHV first-game starter Nick Huff and didn't score again until Charles Tabone had a RBI single in the seventh.

UHV's Corti Wilson hit a two-run home run to tie the game in the top of the seventh.

The teams conclude the series with a single game Sunday beginning at 11 a.m.
