Receipts: 807

Had 202 cows and 25 bulls. The packer market was fully steady to a little stronger on all classes. The large supply of cows was mostly stocker cows and calves going back to the country at record prices on bred cows as well as pairs.

The calf market was steady to stronger on most classes. The thin end of the market is still tops. No. 1 end calves $2-$3 higher while over 600 bulls and heifers were $1 to $2 off. Good market for calves going out on grass. Lighter steers and heifers were $3-$5 higher as a result.

Packer bulls: Heavy weights, $85-$107; lower grades, $67-$80.

Packer cows: breakers, $65-$72; boning cows, $65-$78; canners and cutters, $62-$90; light and weak, $55-$70.

Palpated dry and bred cows sold well (each) $1,000-$1,500 and those selling by the cwt $90-$130; pairs: (per pair) $1,200-$1,750.

Steer calves: (under 200) none; (200-250) none; (250-300) $175-$212; (300-350) $191-$220;(350-400) $169-$219; (400-450) $160-$205; (450-500) $164-$179; (500-600) $137-$156; (550-600) $139-$161;(600-700) $137-$150; (700-800) $129-$133.

Compared to last week: The market was lower this week. Better quality classes of calves and yearlings sold mostly $4 to $8 lower, basically wiping out last week's gains. Demand remaining good on the better kinds.

Packer cows and bulls sold steady on about 100 head total.

Packer cows: Higher dressing utility and cutter cows, $73-$86.50; lower dressing utility and cutter cows, $62-$73; light weight canner cows, $50-$62.

Packer bulls: Heavyweight bulls, $98-$101.50; utility and cutter bulls, $87-$98; light weight canner bulls, $78-$87.
