Victoria should have one chamber for everyone

Editor, the Advocate:

"Do Hispanic Businesses Need Hispanic Chambers?"

My personal opinion is (having been a previous member of both Greater Victoria Chamber of Commerce and Victoria Hispanic Chamber of Commerce) that we do not need three chambers. To me, having division due to ethnicity is so unprofessional. A business is a business, no matter which race owns it. Victoria businesses should be under one umbrella.

To work together and to succeed together with professionalism toward financial success is the goal. There is enough hardship in making a business prosper without racial separation. Victoria's citizens are of many races, and we should be respectful of them all since they all spend money in Victoria. I am an accountant, and my customers vary in ethnicity, but they all pay me with the same kind of money. Let's keep Victoria beautiful in landscape and in its organizations.
