SHINER - A 41-year-old Moulton woman died after a pickup veered into her lane on state Highway 95, about two miles north of Shiner at 8 a.m. Thursday.
Sheryl Lynn Janak was driving south on the highway in a 2013 Ford SUV when a 2011 Dodge Pickup 3500 heading north entered Janak's lane, said Department of Public Safety Trooper Gerald Bryant.
The truck's driver, Roland Carrasco, 19, of Kenedy, was trying to avoid hitting a slower moving commercial vehicle in front of him, Bryant said.
Janak and Carrasco's vehicles struck driver's side to driver's side, he added.
Carrasco and his two passengers, Kevin Williams, 25, of Karnes City, and Christopher Torres, 23, of Kenedy, were treated at the scene.
Janak was pronounced dead at Yoakum Community Hospital, Bryant said.
No citations have been issued, but the wreck is still under investigation, Bryant added.
Trooper Don Plunkett is investigating the wreck.
