Thumbs-up and good luck to Robin Cadle, the new executive director of the Food Bank of the Golden Crescent. We look forward to seeing what changes and improvements she will bring to this important community organization.
Thumbs-up to the return of the Victoria County Master Gardener Association Lunch and Learn with the Masters sessions. We are glad to see this public garden training option available for more people who want to improve their gardening space.
Thumbs-up and good luck to everyone who made a New Year's resolution. Whether it's a commitment to get in shape, drop a bad habit or something else, we wish you success.
Thumbs-up to all the elected officials who took their oaths of office in the past week. We wish you luck and success as you serve the voters in your area.
Thumbs-up to Jesse Matamoros III, the first baby born in 2013, and to all the other babies who will be born during this year.
Thumbs-up to the completion of the Ethel Lee Tracy Amphitheater in Ethel Lee Tracy Park. We look forward to seeing this new site in use.
Thumbs-up to the Texas Zoo for educating the public on American alligators through the alligator feeding events.
Thumbs-up and good luck to all the area kids preparing for livestock shows. We look forward to seeing your animals compete for the grand champion prize.
Thumbs-down to the lack of rain Victoria received this year. We received double last year's rain but more than a foot less than the normal amount.
