The National Weather Service has issued an urban and small stream flood advisory until 10:15 a.m. for eastern Victoria County including the city of Victoria, western Calhoun County, including the cities of Seadrift and Port Lavaca and northeastern Refugio County.

Estimates of 1 to 2 inches of rain have fallen over the advisory area. An additional 1 to 2 inches of rain will be possible.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause elevated levels on small creeks and streams and ponding of water on country roads and farmland along the banks of creeks and streams, according to the National Weather Service.

The weather service advises, do not drive your vehicle into areas where the water covers the roadway. The water depth may be too great to allow your car to cross safely. Move to higher ground.
