Black History Steering Committee announces date of parade, festival

• WHAT: Black History Month parade
• WHEN: 10 a.m. Feb. 9.
• WHERE: The parade will be begin at Patti Welder Magnet Middle School, 1500 E. North St., and will end at the Victoria Community Center.
The Victoria Black History Steering Committee invites residents to attend or participate in upcoming events commemorating Black History Month.
The group is seeking entries for the annual Black History Month parade on Feb. 9.
A Black History Month Festival will immediately follow the parade in the Victoria Community Center until 4 p.m. The committee is seeking participants for entertainment, including displays, musical and vocal groups or soloists; drill teams and praise teams; poetry readers; comedians or dramatists; or other forms of entertainment, as approved by the committee.
