Region III offers disabilities awareness workshop for Scouts

Bush, the 36-year-old attorney from Fort Worth and son of former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, has taken steps toward seeking elected office in Texas, and his father has said his son is considering a run for the state's land commissioner.

Region III Education Service Center is presenting a Disabilities Awareness Workshop for Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at 1905 Leary Lane.

Participants are asked to park in back and enter through the double glass doors.

Get a jump start on earning a Disabilities Awareness Boy Scout merit badge or Cub Scout belt loop/Academics pin. This two-hour session will provide several mini activities to help participants learn and research different areas pertaining to children and adults with disabilities.

Scout leaders are asked to contact Phyllis Hamilton or Kenda Matson at 361-573-0731 by Wednesday with an approximate number of students attending and age ranges.
