Liberal agenda is aimed at taking away freedom
Editor, the Advocate:
Recently, we had another great tragedy in our country. I'm referring to the shooting at the elementary school in Connecticut. The liberal news media milked this story for everything it was worth. Looks like another round of coming down hard on the honest, hard-working, law-abiding gun owners in this country. All we want is to be left alone and to enjoy hunting, target shooting and other shooting sports and gun shows with our families and friends.
But Obama, his administration, liberal members of Congress and other liberals have had this gun ban agenda on the back burner long before he became president.
It's sad that he is using a tragedy to further his gun ban agenda and take away more of our constitutional rights. Our founding fathers were much wiser than most leaders we have in government today. They knew government could easily become too big for its britches and pose a threat to our freedom. An armed citizenry of patriots could keep this from happening. That is why these liberals are so intent on disarming us. A patriot is a citizen who will protect his country from the government. The German people realized, too late, what national disarmament of their citizens would do to their country in the 1930s.
Guns don't kill people, just as knives, vehicles, boats, airplanes, etc. don't kill. It's these things in the hands of criminals, the deranged, terrorists and others like them.
If the government would spend more time and money getting these people off our streets instead of harassing honest, law-abiding citizens, we would be much safer. But you know, it's much easier and safer for them to deprive citizens of their constitutional rights rather than tangling with the criminal element.
The president, his cronies in the administration and the Congress are very good at putting the blame on conservative Republicans and Democrats who do not go along with his agenda. The liberals, bleeding hearts and do-gooders in this country are going to deprive us of more of our liberties and freedoms in the near future.
