Can you say hypocrite? In 2004, state senator Obama voted against a bill that would allow citizens to use firearms to defend their homes, lives and families from intruders. But his kids now attend school where armed guards are on staff. I'm sure the Secret Service also has agents on campus with them. Obama doesn't leave the house without being surrounded by heavily armed guards.
Some liberal politicians, NYC mayor Bloomberg for example, want the government to confiscate privately owned firearms while they enjoy armed guard protection themselves. I guess that as long as they are gutting the Second Amendment, why not go after the Fifth also? This grab is not about protecting "innocents" in schools.
California Senator Fienstein wants all gun owners fingerprinted and registered with the government so they will know the locations, numbers and types of guns owned by everyone. Does anyone believe that this would not be the first step on the road to confiscation?
The Second Amendment was not adopted to protect hunting, target shooting or even self defense. The Founding Fathers knew from first-hand experience what living under a tyrannical government was like, and they wanted citizens to be able to protect themselves from the government if it again became necessary. Now, we have a government that wants to disarm the population. I believe tyranny is once again rearing its ugly head, and Obama wants to protect the government from "we, the people."
