A motorcyclist and his passenger were injured Saturday when they crashed on U.S. Highway 59 South in Victoria County.

Department of Public Safety Trooper Jesse Chavana said the motorcycle was traveling south on the highway when they both fell off.

Chavana said that either a tire blowout or a mechanical failure may have caused the crash, which occurred about 4:40 p.m.

The names and ages of the two injured were not available Saturday. Both were taken to DeTar Hospital Navarro, Chavana said.

A witness to the crash, Kevin Griffith, 54, said he didn't think either victim was wearing a helmet.

"I'm praying that they're both all right," he said.
