Victoria West to host powerlifting meet

Seventeen teams will be competing in the inaugural Westside Bar Benders Bash powerlifting meet on Saturday at the Victoria West gym.

Along with West, teams from East, Calhoun, Beeville, Goliad, Bloomington and St. Joseph will be among those participating.

The meet gets under way at 9 a.m. with the squat and the bench press and deadlift will follow.
