Andrew Billy Anthony caught an six-foot, alligator gar (pictured above) Monday afternoon while fishing for catfish in the Guadalupe River at Riverside Park. Anthony, who has lived in Victoria his whole life and was raised as a fisherman, has caught one gar larger than his catch on Monday, which was seven-feet long. He also has caught two other six-foot gars.

The gar pictured above, which Anthony estimated weighs 140 lbs., put up a bigger and tougher fight than any of his previous catches. It took him 45 minutes to wrestle the gar out of the water.
