No one was injured after an Edna school district bus struck a Victoria school district bus on U.S. Highway 59 North on Tuesday afternoon.

Both buses were traveling south on U.S. 59 North in the outside lane about 4 p.m. when the Victoria bus signaled to turn right onto Hanselman Road.

The Edna bus, with the driver and 27 passengers onboard, then struck the Victoria bus, which was carrying the driver and seven passengers, according to Victoria Police Department Patrol Officer B. Cerny.

The buses had minor damage and no citations were issued.

A second bus arrived for VISD students to continue the route, said spokeswoman Diane Boyett.

"We're happy there were no injuries on either bus and that our students were able to continue their safe route home," she said.
