The annual pro-life walk, "Candlelight March for Life," starts at 7 p.m. Thursday.
Paul Tasin, an organizer for the event, said those who wish to join the walk will leave De Leon Plaza at 7 p.m. and head toward Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church for a presentation about pro-life lobbying in Austin from Texas Right to Life.
Tasin said they aim to raise awareness about abortion and pro-life efforts.
"I think each person needs to do their part, or do something. If a house is on fire, you try to save the people in it. You don't just ignore it," he said.
Held in response to the 1973 Supreme Court decision Roe vs. Wade, the walk started nearly 40 years ago in Victoria. Those who can not make the march can still meet at the church for the presentation.
