Colonial Dames elects officers

The annual business meeting of the John Brewer Chapter of Colonial Dames XVII Century was Jan. 15 at the Power Home. Officers for the 2013-15 term were elected and will be installed in April. The bonus agenda was an Apron Fashion Show, which featured a variety of aprons, both vintage and recent. Many styles were modeled, including ones handed down from grandmas with intricate hand stitching, a pinafore, one that had button-on decorations for holidays, a transformer apron that folded and buttoned to become a bonnet, a little black apron complete with pearls and novelty aprons. Shown with their aprons, from left, are Jean Shores, Hazel Foltyn, Marilyn Logan and Kate Williams; back row, from left, are Margaret Phelps, Carol Strarup, Bettye Pribyl, Sharron Torrence and Debra Hamman.
