Want to watch the Super Bowl in style? How does a 50-inch flat screen television sound to view the big game?

As part of the Junior League of Victoria Spring Sweep garage sale, a drawing will be held to win just that.

Add an ice chest filled with snacks, beverages and gift cards to the huge TV, and for a $5 donation per ticket, and you could be looking large come game day.

The winner will be announced at noon Feb. 2.

The garage sale will feature new and gently used items donated by the public and about a dozen area businesses.

"The quality of the merchandise has really improved this year," said Lisa Henry, event chairwoman. "Everything is in great shape, and the prices are unbelievable. On top of that, the proceeds benefit the work that the Junior League does in the community."

Merchandise for sale will include women's, men's and children's clothing and shoes, home decor, furniture, electronics, appliances, pet supplies and jewelry.

"It's really a great opportunity to find some great merchandise at garage sale prices," Henry said. "We've really stepped up the quality of the merchandise over last year."

Items not sold during the sale are donated to area charities.

The Junior League is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women and improving the community.

In the past, the organization has provided scholarships to students at the Vine School and St. Joseph High School and made donations to CASA, Hospice of South Texas and the Food Bank of the Golden Crescent, among other community projects.

Donations for the Spring Sweep will be accepted through Wednesday. Call Henry at 361-550-5238.
