Health columnist needs to drop fake remedies

Editor, the Advocate:

When a vaccine is available, it is criminal for the Advocate to run a health column suggesting we can ward off the flu by taping sliced onions to the soles of our feet. Phylis Canion writes, "Documentation states that when the flu killed 40 million people in an outbreak in 1919, those who survived had placed unpeeled onions in a dish in each room in the house." This insults the memory of my great-grandmother, who survived, and her strong, young son, who did not. I'd like to see Canion's documentation.
