Do not compromise on De Leon Street closure

Editor, the Advocate:

St. Joseph High School has been a symbol of excellence in education for more than 140 years. It's an asset to the community and the neighborhood where it's located. The longevity of the school has been the result of forward thinking, thoughtful decisions, community support and great leadership. The expansion of the institution will allow the school to continue providing excellence in education for future generations. The closure of a small part of De Leon Street is necessary for this expansion. It will enhance the school and will not have any adverse impact on the value, marketability or use and enjoyment of properties within the neighborhood. There is no need for a compromise. Close the street.
