Candidates seeking office and re-election for city and school positions can register to have their names on the ballot Wednesday.
Filing opens 8 a.m. at the city secretary's office, 105 W. Juan Linn St. It closes March 1.
Mayor Will Armstrong said he plans to be first in line to register Wednesday morning.
"I'll be there bright and early," he said.
His position is up along with Councilman Joe Truman's and Councilman Tom Halepaska's - who represent the Super Districts 5 and 6 respectively.
The school district has three seats up for the election – positions 1, 6 and 7.
Armstrong was first elected in 2004. While he said he has heard rumors that others may attempt to unseat him, there have been no confirmations.
"Every time I've ever run, I've run on the basis that I want to work to make this a place for my children and a place our grandchildren can live meaningful lives," he said.
He wants to put more emphasis on residential street repairs.
"We've put a lot of money into thoroughfares, but we've got some residential streets that have deteriorated beyond what is reasonable," he said.
