An estimated 95,000 visitors went through Cuero's Christmas in the Park between the Monday before Thanksgiving week and New Year's night.
"We even had one marriage proposal in front of the large Christmas tree," said JoAnn Edge, a member of the December Events Committee of the Cuero Development Corporation, which puts on the annual holiday display.
The self-guided driving tour, which began in 2000, attracted 22,284 vehicles from cars to tour buses. On Thursday nights in December, 2,500 cups of hot chocolate were served.
Planning is under way for 2013, and discounts are being offered for new displays.
If purchased by Thursday, a 40 percent discount off 2012 prices is being offered.
From Feb. 1 through March 15, a 40 percent discount off 2013 prices is available for new scenes.
