William Carbonara, of Cuero, has been appointed by Gov. Rick Perry to the Guadalupe- Blanco River Authority board of directors for a term to expire Feb. 1, 2019. He is an account executive at JHC Insurance Agency and will represent DeWitt County. He is a board member and treasurer of the Cuero Development Corporation and a member and past board member of the Cuero Rotary Club. He is a past board member and past treasurer of the Cuero Chamber of Commerce Agriculture and Visitors Center and a past board member of Visionaries in Preservation. He is also a board member and treasurer of the Cuero Area Soccer Association and Cuero Little Dribblers and a member of the St. Michael's Catholic Church and Parish Advisory Council. Carbonara received a bachelor's degree and a Master of Business Administration from the University of the Incarnate Word.
At the Texas Funeral Directors Association's 127th annual convention in Austin recently, Troy Finch, of La Vernia, was named Texas Funeral Director of the Year. This, the highest honor TFDA can bestow, was presented to Finch during TFDA's annual gala, and his selection came from outstanding nominees chosen by the eight TFDA regions across the state.
Finch, in addition to managing five funeral homes in La Vernia, Nixon, Runge, Stockdale and Yorktown, has served on the TFDA board of directors and as president of the 56-county South Central Funeral Directors Association, the largest TFDA region in Texas.
