Generals offense explodes in big win

THE WOODLANDS - The Victoria Generals made it four straight victories with a 14-5 win over the Woodlands Strykers.
The Generals (21-17) scored runs in six of the first seven innings to jump out to a 14-3 run. The Strykers (10-28) scored once in the eighth and twice in the ninth to make it 14-5.
Trey Wall picked up the win, giving up two runs on seven hits after six innings of work.
Every starter recorded a hit for the Generals, leading to some big offensive innings. Those big innings came in the third, fourth and fifth innings for the Generals when they plated three runs in each inning.
Jace Reese hit a three-run home run in the third inning to give him his second homer of the season.
J.B. Moss and J.D. Arrowood each had RBI singles in the fourth, and Jacob Hubert scored on a wild pitch before Kyle Thornell, Hubert and J.D. Stinnett scored in the fifth inning, giving the Generals an 11-1 lead.
Hubert smashed a two-run home run in the sixth inning to make the score 13-1.
After giving up a run to the Strykers in the sixth inning, Jordan Camel drove in a run on an RBI double in the seventh.
The Generals return to action Tuesday night against the East Texas Pump Jacks. First pitch is set for 7:05 p.m.
