Moulton Jamboree opens Friday
The annual Moulton Town & Country Jamboree opens Friday and runs through Sunday in the city park near the Moulton Community Center, 102 Veterans Drive.
The carnival and arts and crafts booth open at 6 p.m.
A men's softball tournament starts at 7 p.m. and runs through Sunday.
Damon Billimek will perform at the pavilion from 7-8 p.m. followed by the Texas Dream Band until midnight.
The celebration includes a variety of cook-off events including salsa, shrimp, barbecue (chicken, ribs and brisket), beans and chili.
Saturday starts with a 5K run/walk at 7 a.m. A Go Texan domino tournament begins at 9 a.m. at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 703 W. Jackson St.
Hay ride tours of Moulton begin at 10 a.m., and the carnival opens at 4 p.m.
Musical entertainment at the pavilion includes Los Kolaches and Doc West from 3 to 8 p.m. The Trevor Cole Band takes the stage at 9 p.m. and will play until 1 a.m.
Sunday kicks off with an antique farm tractor and engine show at 8 a.m.
A pie baking contest will be from 9 a.m. until noon, and the grand parade starts downtown at 10:30 a.m.
A dinner of kettle fried chicken will be served at the KC Hall starting at 11 a.m. Plates are $8.
At 2 p.m., the carnival opens, and a pie auction will be at the KC Hall at that same time.
Also at 2 p.m., there will be horseshoe and washer pitching tournaments.
The free music Sunday includes the Dujka Brothers and the Red Ravens starting from 1 to 7:30 p.m.
