Victoria Police Department and fire officials pick up debris from a Dodge Ram pickup truck that went off the road and hit an embankment while traveling north on the frontage road in the 10200 block of the service road adjacent to U.S. Highway 59 near John Stockbauer Drive late Wednesday, said Senior Patrol Officer Michael Leet.

Three men were transported to the hospital Wednesday night after crashing into a dirt embankment.

Alvin Salinas Jr., 32, of Inez, was northbound in the 10200 block of the service road adjacent to U.S. Highway 59 and failed to heed a warning sign that the road ended in 500 feet, according to a police report.

Salinas told officers he was arguing with a passenger at the time and had been drinking, according to the report.

Salinas and two passengers, Eric Berber, 26, and Johnny Ortiz, 28, were transported to DeTar Hospital Navarro, where they were treated and released, a hospital spokesman said.

The wreck is under investigation by the Victoria Police Department.
