Receipts: 1,641

Had 169 cows and 17 bulls. The packer market continued last week's higher market, picking up another $1 value. Runs are lower, and packers are getting more current on getting cattle processed. Demand remains strong for the numbers entering the market.

The calf market was really good across the board as all classes continued the upward trend that started last week. Anything under 450 pounds with any quality was $2 to $3 higher with lighter weights up over $5. Just a good, healthy, competitive market on all classes.

Packer bulls: Heavyweights, $88-$103; lower grades, $62-$87.

Packer cows: breakers, $65-$73; boning cows, $65-$82; canners and cutters, $69-$91; light and weak, $40-$60.

Palpated dry cows (10 bred cows - older): $80-$89; pairs (3): $900-$1,440.

Steer calves: (under 200) $186-$220; (200-250) $190-$222; (250-300) $181-$214; (300-350) $178-$198; (350-400) $162-$184; (400-450) $157-$178; (450-500) $151-$165; (500-600) $147-$158; (550-600) $146-$157; (600-700) $138-$144; (700-800) $125-$131.

Compared to last week: The market was stronger again this week. Heavier weight classes sold $2 to $4 higher. Lighter weights 500 pounds and down sold $4 to $7 higher. Demand very good in all areas.

Packer cows and bulls sold steady to $1 higher on about 130 head total.

Packer cows: Higher dressing utility and cutter cows, $74-$86; lower dressing utility and cutter cows, $61-$74; lightweight canner cows, $50-$61.

Packer bulls: Heavyweight bulls, $98-$102; utility and cutter bulls, $92-$98; lightweight canner bulls, $83-$92.
