Steers: (200-300) $146-$186; (300-400) $130-$184; (400-500) $129-$160; (500-600) $105-$137; (600-700) $103-$135; and (700-800) $90-$111.

Heifers: (200-300) $142-$180; (300-400) $135-$220; (400-500) $116-$170; (500-600) $103-$131; (600-700) $99-$125; and (700-800) $96-$115.

Slaughter cows: $40-$84; slaughter bulls, $65-$94.50; stocker cows, $65-$100; bred cows, $580-$1,075; pairs, $1,100-$1,390; horses, $50-$450.

Receipts: 802

Had 108 cows and 21 bulls. The packer market was lower than last week's market; sluggish demand and school lunch program is over for summer.

The calf market was steady to stronger than last week's market. Big steers were $1 to $2 higher while some lightweight calves were as much as $10 higher. Overall, the market was strong on all classes and pretty much in line with last week's strong market.

Packer bulls: Heavyweights, $85-$99.50; lower grades, $70-$84.

Packer cows: breakers, none; boning cows, $65-$80; canners and cutters, $70-$81; light and weak, $40-$59.

Palpated dry cows (11 bred cows): $79-$91; pairs (6): $900-$1,030.

Compared to last week: The market this week was a little stronger again. Better quality classes sold steady to mostly $2 to $3 higher.

Packer cows: Higher dressing utility and cutter cows, $76-$90.50; lower dressing utility and cutter cows, $63-$76; lightweight canner cows, $51-$63.

Packer bulls: Heavyweight bulls, $98-$102.50; utility and cutter bulls, $91-$98; lightweight canner bulls, $83-$91.
