A Victoria nursing home wants to help an area family with medical bills.

Twin Pines Nursing and Rehabilitation Center will serve barbecue plates Monday to raise money for Nicholas "Niko" Ramirez, said Lori Andel, director of nurses.

Ramirez, 21, of Victoria, was injured in a motorcycle wreck May 26 and is in a coma at San Antonio Military Medical Center.

Barbecue plates will sell for $5 each. A bake sale will also be held. Drinks will be available.

All proceeds from the fundraiser will go toward Ramirez's medical bills, Andel said.

The fundraiser begins at 10:30 a.m. and will continue until 2 p.m. or when all food is gone.
