A home in the 3000 block of Farm-to-Market Road 1685 was heavily damaged in a fire at 11:55 p.m. Saturday.
No one was home at the time of the fire, and no one was injured, said Victoria County Assistant Fire Chief David Phillips.
The home may be a total loss after smoke and fire damage, he said.
The fire started in a bedroom of the home, and the cause is not known, Phillips said.
Firefighters took about 15 minutes to get the fire under control. The cause of the fire is under investigation, he said.
The family is receiving emergency assistance from the American Red Cross Crossroads Chapter, such as food and clothes, but is staying with other family in the area, said Linda May, emergency services director.
The family was not available for comment Sunday.
