Texans blank San Antonio in playoff win

The Victoria Texans scored three defensive touchdowns and captured a 46-0 win over the San Antonio All-Stars in a Crossroads Amateur Football League second-round playoff game Saturday night at Patti Welder Stadium.

The Texans improved to 12-0 and moved into next week's South Conference championship game against the Edinburg Landsharks.

The Texans scored when Champ Allen returned a tipped pass 65 yards for a touchdown, Cordero Williams took a pitch from Jarvis Griggs, who recovered a fumble, and ran it 34 yards for a touchdown, and Wesley Belcher had a 2-yard interception return for a touchdown.

The Texans defense also created a safety when San Antonio quarterback Joe Ramos was penalized for intentionally grounding the ball in the end zone.

The Texans also scored touchdowns on a 21-yard pass from Williams to Keeman Jones, a 5-yard run by OJ Hughes, and a pass from Doug Ford to Kobe Austin.

Taylor Brown added a 37-yard field goal and five extra points.
