Victoria school district to conduct seminar about Internet safety
The Victoria Independent School District's Information and Technology department will lead a discussion Thursday about Internet safety.
The seminar is designed to teach parents about the computer in their home and the smartphone in their children's hands, said Linda Dueser, the school district's instructional technology coordinator.
"Some parents are not up to date on what our kids are doing on the Internet," Dueser said. "We have to teach them about cyberbullying, digital citizenship, social networking and appropriate online behavior."
Discussions will be led by two FBI special agents and a general manager from the Internet service provider Suddenlink.
The seminar begins at 6:30 p.m. in Dillard's court at the Victoria Mall.
