A small plane carrying three men crash landed Saturday morning in an open field near the Victoria Regional Airport.
The crash occurred about 10 a.m., and the extent of injuries of the pilot and his two passengers were not immediately determined.
Injured were pilot Burnl Wilkerson, 58, of Houston, and passengers Sajib Rupollia, 30, of California, and Daniel Nghien, 50, of Houston.
Wilkerson is expected to be flown today to Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston, said hospital spokeswoman Shannon Spree. Rupollia was taken by helicopter about 1:30 p.m. to University Hospital in San Antonio. Nghien remains at Citizens. He is expected to be treated and released later Saturday.
Roland Herwig, a spokesman for the Federal Aviation Administration in Oklahoma City, said the plane's engine lost power soon after it departed from the Victoria airport. He said the National Transportation Safety Board is taking over the investigation.
The fixed-wing multi-engine plane is an AC68 light utility corporate aircraft.
