Warren Key aims for the dunk button at KidFest in Cuero.

Kids and adults alike endured the blistering heat to enjoy the first KidFest in downtown Cuero on Thursday.

Magic shows, pickle eating contests, races, dunking booths, inflatable rides and video games kept the kids entertained.

Women tested their domestic skills through timed contests, including peanut butter and jelly sandwich assembling and diaper changing while men donned high heels to race down Main Street.

The festival is part of the Cuero Main Street program's annual Staycation program, which is also sponsored by the city of Cuero and the Cuero Development Corp.
