An All-American clean and structured look is in this summer. When we think of fashionable, all-American looks, we immediately think of Ralph Lauren and its advertisements of summer in the Hamptons with a glass of iced tea. But you don't have to look further than a summer in Garner State Park, Port Aransas and southern designer Billy Reid.
The looks are all solid in color, and if there is a pattern on the women's shirts, it is very clean and discreet. The fabric is of nice quality, and the belts and shoes are made of real leather. Everything in the collection is approachable and easy to wear.
This summer, go for the clean, structured look. What I mean by structured is darting in the fabric and the looks are tailor-made to fit your body shape and size, which gives a nice, clean look, accentuating the waist and shoulders and makes for a nice fit.
The colors we see in the collection are navy, mustard yellow, ivory white, black, taupe and deep brown. All are in solid color. Opt for these colors for summer in your work apparel, cocktail apparel - possibly a nice ivory dress with a brown leather belt at the waist - and everyday apparel.
This color palette plays well with dark-wash jeans, pencil skirts of solid color and pattern and slacks for the desk job. Play around with these looks inspired by Billy Reid with apparel of the same color palette in boutiques and stores in Victoria.
If in Houston, stop by the Billy Reid boutique for a true southern experience There are jellybeans and bourbons in store for guests. Take a peek at the line on the Billy Reid website for apparel inspiration.
