The members of Palestine Missionary Baptist Church in Victoria know a thing or two about fashion.
The congregation showed off its Sunday best at the Rip the Runway fashion show Saturday.
Bright colors, lace, beads and an eclectic mix of hats marched down the runway in front of about 20 members of the church.
The show's purpose was to raise money for the church's Bible Band, a group that teaches people about the Bible.
Joyce Farrow, president of the band, said she wanted to do something different to raise money.
She said she told all the ladies in the church to come over in their Sunday best.
The pastor's wife, Elaine Wyatt, who was dressed in an Indigo blue dress, said she hopes the event promotes fashion and unity.
"This is a very traditional church," she said, "and we represent Christ in whatever we wear."
Wyatt said the event showed women how to be fashionable without being revealing.
The women of the church wore long dresses and dress suits with lace trim and beading. The men of the church wore detailed suits, showcasing an array of colors and accessories.
"The world is revealing," she said. "We aren't of the world."
The fashion show concluded with a parade of salads, in which women of the church presented several types of salads for church members.
