Perla Studer recently began work as a senior recruitment coordinator for the University of Houston-Victoria Letting Education Achieve Dreams initiative. She talks with high school students at various recruiting events in the Austin area. The Victoria native previously worked in sales for AT&T in Austin.
Kathleen Carr was recently hired as admissions analyst in the University of Houston-Victoria Office of Admissions. She looks over applications and transfer transcripts to ensure prospective students have met admission requirements. Carr previously worked as a tutor in the UHV Academic Center. She graduated from UHV in December with a Bachelor of Science in psychology.
Senior Helpers has announced the following caregivers as achieving levels of service with the company: Melissa Talamantez, platinum and diamond; Delilah Hunt, bronze; Lisa Awalt, diamond; Benita Castillo, bronze and silver; and Mary Blanco, bronze. Caregiver levels are based on the amount of service hours with the company as well as continuous training completed.
Senior Helpers employee DeAnna Perez, a caregiver, has successfully obtained her certification as Alzheimer's and dementia care specialist.
To obtain her certification, she completed the Senior Gems Approach, a training program developed by Senior Helpers in partnership with Teepa Snow, a nationally recognized expert in Alzheimer's and dementia care.
