Victoria Professional Express Network offers scholarships

The Victoria Professional Express Network of the American Business Women's Association is offering a $1,000 scholarship and a $1,500 scholarship funded through the Stephen Bufton Memorial Educational Fund to two deserving area students.
Each year, area chapters of ABWA provide Stephen Bufton Memorial Scholarships to female students who will be attending accredited U.S. colleges, universities and community/vocational schools.
To qualify for the $1,000 Victoria College Impact Scholarship, applicants must be female citizens of the United States, currently attend VC and have graduated from high school prior to 2007.
To qualify for the $1,500 Outright Grant, applicants must be female citizens of the United States, completed at least 60 hours of coursework (as of the Fall 2012), have at least a 3.0 GPA and be working towards a baccalaureate degree or higher at an institution authorized to confer degrees at the baccalaureate level or higher.

Application deadline is March 31. A minimum of three eligible applications are required in order for the scholarships to be awarded. The scholarship recipients will be notified this summer.
SBMEF, ABWA's national educational fund, is one of the most highly respected grant and scholarship funds in the country. For 60 years, ABWA has helped women achieve their business and professional success through educational scholarships. Since its inception, more than 16,000 women nationwide have been awarded more than $17 million in scholarships.
The Victoria Professional Express Network is a chartered Express Network of the American Business Women's Association established in 2007 whose vision is to establish the premier networking and professional development organization, upholding the ABWA mission statement, for the greater Victoria area. VPEN meets the third Wednesday of the month from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Victoria Country Club.
