An area government hopeful made the Victoria City Council District 3 race even more competitive Tuesday.
Vic Caldwell, 50, said in a news release he will bring servant leadership to the council if elected.
"We need strong, thoughtful, unbiased leadership to ensure that the decisions made today are the right ones for the future of all Victoria," he said in a news release.
Caldwell joins John Hyak, 53, and Jeff Bauknight, 43, who are also vying for the position.
In a news release, he cited more than 25 years of business experience he will bring to the plate, most currently in property management and as a technology specialist.
"We need responsible leadership to handle the day-to-day business of the city but also to have a vision of what needs to be done now so we continue our growth and do so proactively not reactively," he said in the release.
Filing closes Monday for this special election.
