Faith girls hoops land 11 on all-district team

Courtne Grevey averaged 11 points,  7.5 rebounds, 6.3 steals and 3.1 assists as one of the Lady Cougars' point guards this season.

The Faith Academy girls basketball team, fresh off of a trip to the TAPPS Class 2A state basketball tournament last week, scored 11 players the TAPPS All-District 6-2A team, led by four players on the first team.

On the first team, juniors Courtne Grevey and Maegan Wilkinson were joined by seniors Sarah Alex and Bianca Sanchez.

Alex led the team in points per game, averaging 13.5 points along with 9.1 rebounds and 3.8 steals for the Lady Cougars this season.

Grevey averaged 11 points, 7.5 rebounds, 6.3 steals and 3.1 assists as one of the team's point guards this season.

Wilkinson averaged 8.25 points and grabbed a team leading 10.3 rebounds from the post position this season for Faith Academy. She also added 1.5 blocks per game.

Sanchez, a guard, averaged 7.5 points per game and 3.25 steals.

Four more players earned second team honors for Faith Academy: junior guard Brittany Church, senior gaurd Tiffany Kremling, sophomore post Krischelle Alex and senior post Isabella Najus.

Church led the Lady Cougars by averaging 5.7 assists per game. She added 3 points per game and 3.4 steals per game.

Kremling averaged 3.8 steals per game and 3.5 rebounds along with 3 points per game.

Krischelle Alex added 8.9 points per game, 5 rebounds and 2 steals per game.

Najus averaged 2.7 points per game and 2 rebounds.

Also for the Lady Cougars, three players earned all-district honorable mention. They were senior guard Kelsey Solis, senior guard Lauren Ruiz and freshman guard Hope Burns.

Faith Academy finished the season 26-14 after earning a berth in TAPPS state tournament. They lost to district rival Boerne Geneva, which beat the Lady Cougars for the third time in the state semifinal 57-37 on Friday.
