Editor, the Advocate:
In my opinion, one of the Advocate's best hires was Jennifer Preyss. Her understanding of religions comes out clearly in her various articles. It's just good, unbiased reporting. Excellent articles from India!
I particularly enjoy Deacon Smith's insightful columns Saturdays. I really miss him when he is left out.
On another topic, Kim Smith's letter from March 2: Yes, we have sorrow for those dying at the hand of deranged snipers. God save their souls; however, I think your sentiments are misdirected. You should be counseling parents and guardians of today's youth. Teach them responsibility and that every action they take has consequences. This is called upbringing and takes years.
Ownership of guns by the public is mainly to protect the public from a tyrannical government; secondarily, for hunting and pleasure.
Should we outlaw highways and oil fields? Even more deaths occur there.
