Five people were involved in a two-vehicle crash but escaped serious injury Saturday morning at the intersection of Ben Jordan Street and Houston Highway, said Lt. Michael Tatum, of the Victoria Police Department.

One person, however, was arrested because he did not have a valid license and because of an arrest warrant that had been issued for him.

Ruben Torres, 40, was driving a black Dodge pickup with passengers Jasmine Torres, 15; Vanessa Torres, 13; and Fatima Torres, 10, all of Victoria. They were struck from behind about 9:30 a.m. by Jose Morales, 39, of Gonzales, who was driving a green pickup.

Victoria police arrested Morales after the crash.
