Jimmy Zaplac and Dawn McFadin, of Coldwell Banker The Ron Brown Company, were among more than 1,000 Texas Realtors attending the Texas Association of Realtors Winter Meeting on Feb. 8-12 at the Hyatt Regency Austin. Zaplac was the TREPAC Trustee for Region 11, and his team received several awards. McFadin and co-chairwoman, Jennifer Hill, represented Victoria TREPAC and accepted both a first- and second-place award for the Victoria Area Association of Realtors.
James Young, of Awesome Net Inc., attended computer networking courses presented by MicroTik, of Riga, Latvia. The certifications earned by Young are MTCNA, MicroTik Training Certified Network Associate; MTCRE, MicroTik Certified Routing Engineer; and MTCINE, MicroTik Certified Inter-Networking Engineer. This training will allow Awesome Net Inc. to provide customized computer networking solutions for its customers.
Sherri Strickland, of All Star Properties in Victoria, was among more than 1,000 Texas Realtors attending the Texas Association of Realtors Winter Meeting Feb. 8-12 at the Hyatt Regency on Austin. She is a member of the Professional Development Committee and attended meetings to help make the quality of the required continuing education that Realtors must take better. Strickland is a certified instructor for the Texas Association of Realtors and sits on the board of directors for TAR.
Victoria College recently welcomed new faculty and staff for the spring semester. Among them are: Donna Clark, administrative assistant for the Division of Career, Health and Technical Professions; Bernardino Hernandez, part-time office coordinator for the Leo J. Welder Center for the Performing Arts; Richard Phillips, Skills Development Fund training coordinator; Trella Pina, business office accounting clerk II; Keith Schindler, counselor; and Ann Slatter, Title V pre-college advisor.
John Handley, senior financial adviser of the Greater Texas Region of Wells Fargo Advisors, LLC, was ranked among Barron's top 1,000 financial advisers for 2013, as announced in the weekly magazine's Feb. 18 issue. Handley was ranked 67 in the state of Texas.
