If it's a coffee shop atmosphere with books aplenty you're after, the Victoria Public Library has you covered.

Late Night at the Library spans 8 to 10:30 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday at the library, 302 N. Main St.

The event, the first of its kind for the organization, is a chance for community members to take in free coffee, snacks and music after hours, Communication Services Manager Jessica Erebia said. Internet, Wi-Fi and all library services will be available throughout the event.

"We'll play with the lighting a little bit so it's a little more soothing," she said. "We want people to be able to come in and relax. This is something different."

The library enjoys trying new things and hopes to see both familiar faces and new ones at the event, Erebia said.

"We love to have different ways of letting patrons know what we have to offer at the library," she said. "We're here for the citizens of Victoria."

For more information, call the library at 361-485-3302.
