According to Literacy Texas, 85 percent of juveniles who are involved in the court system are functionally illiterate and there are 3.8 million adults in Texas without a high school diploma.

The Children's Discovery Museum and UHV's Kappa Delta Pi-Alpha Zeta Lambda Education Honor Society are partnering to help get children excited about reading.

There will be a reading theater, robot building, games and more. A dinner will be served.

The event is for children kindergarten through third grade. Parents can also drop their children off at the event.
